Carol Peletier (The Walking Dead TV Series)
The reason why she would be one of my top three characters is because she is one of the few major characters in the tv series to evolve throughout all the seasons. Viewers get to go on a journey with her as she is defined from being an abused victim, who couldn't survive in both the world before and the one they live in now to a tough survivor who would do anything to protect her group/family in this dark and cruel apocalyptic world.
Throughout the journey, you see her as a kind-hearted woman but fragile and defenceless when it comes to her fear and abuse from her ruthless, lazy husband at the beginning of the show. But as time goes on, through the loss of her husband, her daughter and her close friendships/bonds with the group, you see her grow and adapt into a strong, independent surviver, not afraid of the danger of the zombie infested world and is able to risk her own life for the survival of her group.
