6DM022, 6DM012: week 13: (1st-8th February 2016) introductions

As I approach my last couple of months at university, the next part of the final film away from pre-production is post production aswell as the second part of major project.
Below shows the briefs of these two modules showing what is required for the finished outcomes since these two are linked. What this involves is the final film with promotion of the idea to sell ourselves towards gaining career opportunities aswell as a personal reflection on the experience when undertaking the final production.

Post production schedule
Today I decided to create a rough schedule on what I will conduct in this first week this includes the main points of feedback from lecturers in our final pre-production presentation which includes revisiting character designs as the anatomy is restricted and not loose to animate easily aswell as revisiting the animatic to fix the pacing as there are too many actions in such a short time aswell as cut out scenes that are not completely important to the overall story. The schedule also has other tasks that would be critical for the animation process to go forward but this will change as the time goes on.

After the lectures, the main tasks I undertook in the extra hours I took at university is start redesigning the characters especially the mother character as she still doesn't have the feminine figure that is needed which is be shown in a future post. I also looked back on my animatic to see what would be cut out and changed and I realise that some of the scenes are too fast and it seems like that there is too much going on for such a small time duration. As advice from our lecturers Samantha Moore and Emily Mantell to work professionally and to help each other's films me and Andrew Taylor started to co-ordinate with helping each other out with what can be changed to helping with building sets and designing what would suit the project.
What I did for Andrew is help improve the design structure of his set with experimenting with detail on making it look more surreal and help develop his own style gained by inspired sources of internet images of trees to see what design process it would need to reflect in his set since his film is both stop motion and 2d animation. I also suggested when melding 2d characters and stop motion backgrounds is add black outline to all footage from both mediums to blend the two techniques together so it makes sure they don't feel separate and out of balance.

In return he gave some advice on what could change in the pacing particularly skipping some of the action shots as some characters are enacting too much personality and characteristics in one scene. He also suggested that some of the designing could be changed as for pacing purposes, the characters feel like he couldn't tell who was doing what in which scene particularly in the beginning scenes of the short. Especially when this is in shown in the animatic.
