6DM022, 6DM012: week 19 (14th-21st march 2016)

schedule
As this week was busy with silent signal trip in Birmingham, the zoo trip in Dudley that gained me more experience of life drawing animals aswell as documenting them for future study and showing the complete animatic to be ready for fully animating the characters, my step forward was to continue animating my project as much as I could over the Easter holiday aswell as looking into more job sites for potential applications within my portfolio and researching inspirations. The photos below show what I am hoping to do as I keep on schedule to meet the standards I want. They are basic descriptions but they will be written more clearly in a future post when I have updated the digital schedule. I also put a deadline on the week 8 post to get half of the lineart animation done before showcasing to lecturers and peers.

Updated animatic
Not much has changed with the animatic I wanted to show this version with improved based on more sessions in the sound booth and the software they have.
But I also found the time to create better backgrounds for some of the scenes of the animation to give a relative idea of where I want the presentation to go and what the final outlook would like once edited and cleaned up.

Below shows the setup which took each nearly an hour to set up and take down. But we managed to get the right photos for the project based on his of placeholder photos. To check out his work the link is http://andytails.blogspot.co.uk/

Zoo trip
From the same week as the silent signal event, the animation club run by second years Bethany Borg and Summer Davies Newton organized a trip to Dudley zoo for the purpose of advancing our skills in life drawing especially basing on animals for all years. This trip for me aswell as others in the third year was beneficial as these inspirations and capture of animal movement and poses helps when animating our final films since they involve some form of animal that drives the plot forward. Below shows the best of photos I personally taken whilst on the trip aswell as rough sketches of the animals themselves. The trip also involved going to Dudley castle in the same area which was useful to see the old architecture of this 11th century old structure.

These are quick sketches whilst looking and walking around the zoo but these will be improved aswell as sketching more from photos taken by other students that I went with on the trip aswell as my own photos. These will be useful to show on a future post aswell as being beneficial for my portfolio project.
